How to Keep Creative Context When You Switch AI Models

Switching models is easy. Switching models without losing the brief is the actual product. Chat tools fail here. You change labs and the thread is gone, the refs are gone, the almost-right crop is a screenshot in Downloads.

Developers keep context in git and in the app. Creatives need a board. That is the rest of OpenRouter for creatives after the catalog.

What “context” means on a campaign

• The references the client sent (pack shot, face, type).
• The last ten directions you already rejected.
• Crops and expands that are now new nodes, not forgotten edits.
• The prompt that produced the almost-right still — so Change model can reuse it.

If any of that lives only in a chat scroll, you will re-explain the job every time you open Gemini after Flux.

How a canvas holds it

On Pantr, images sit in world coordinates. You pan; you don’t page. `@` names stay stable so the prompt points at the same still after you switch models. Multi-select without `@` is blocked for image models — on purpose — so the model is not guessing which refs you meant.

What not to do

Share a read-only link if someone needs to see the board without editing. The brief should travel as a surface, not as a ZIP of unnamed PNGs.
